The little ones can be a bit picky at the beach if that’s even possible? What’s a family to do when some of its members aren’t satisfied with just “chilling to vibes” on the Emerald Coast? I hope some of these ideas make each of your family members a little happier, thus turning a frown into a smile for all.
Go for a Bike Ride
If your family is no longer excited to hear you say, “let’s put on our swimming trunks and hit the sand gang!” Then it may be time for the bike ride. Not just any bike ride. The 30A scenic highway family bike ride! 30A is one of the best places on the Gulf Coast for biking due to its impressive network of 30A bike trails and scenic views. Our family loves biking Timpoochee Trail, which stretches almost the entire length of 30A. There are lots of places to rent bikes for a good cost and cause… Get out there today!
Kayak or Paddleboard Across The Coastal Dune Lake
Along with renting 30A bikes for your family, that same place might offer paddleboards and kayaks. It’s a fantastic adventure out in the beautiful open fresh air and it’s adventurous! You can do it in the ocean or the coastal dune lakes around 30A. Our personal favorite is the Eastern Lake area’s Coastal Dune Lake.
Take the kids and family to Sandestin’s Village of Baytowne Wharf
Personally, this is one of our favorite things to do as a family!! When our kids were 3 and 5 we started taking them to the Village of Baytowne Wharf and watched it grow into a great playground for the littles, equipped with treehouses, boat rentals, carousels, ziplining, and so much more! Only a short 20-minute drive away. The kids will love climbing the rock walls, going ziplining, playing in the water features, and attending magic shows here. The adults in your party will love it, too! There are countless boutiques here offering upscale ladies’ clothing, beachwear, fishing gear, gifts, and more.
